A Bee Hive's Year
Ever think about what the honey bees are doing right now? So do we...all the time!

April - May
The bees are very hungry right now, we are feeding them with sugar syrup and pollen to help them get through the last of winter and ready for the new pollen

June
Swarm season is caused by overcrowding in the hive. The honey bees have grown to a large population size and require extra space. The worker bees fill themselves up on lots of honey to prepare for lack of food when they swarm.

July
The honey bees are out collecting lots of pollen and honey. They are working hard to plan for a winter ahead.

December - January
The honeybees are huddling together, moving their small but mighty wing muscles, to keep warm. The bees keep the cluster around 32 degrees Celsius at all times throughout the winter months. After a significant snowfall, it is important to always make sure the bees have their bottom entrance clear of snow to allow air flow and cleansing flights.
